IHPA Work Program 2016–17
27 June 2016As prescribed in Section 225 of the National Health Reform Act 2011 (the Act), the objectives of the IHPA Work Program are to:
- set out IHPA’s work program for the coming year; and
- invite interested persons (including states and territories) to make submissions to the Pricing Authority about the work program up to 30 days after publication.

1 March 2016This document provides the technical specifications for how the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA) developed the Activity Based Funding (ABF) models for the service streams to be funded for the National Efficient Price (NEP) and the National Efficient Cost (NEC) Determinations for 2016-17.
National Efficient Price Determination 2014-15
28 February 2014The Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (Pricing Authority) is established under the National Health Reform Act 2011 (Cth) (the Act), and by virtue of section 131(1) of the Act is invested with the following functions relevant to this National Efficient Price Determination 2014 (Determination):
(a) to determine the national efficient price for health care services provided by public hospitals where the services are funded on an activity basis;

28 February 2014This document was produced as an accompaniment to the NEP14 and NEC14 Determinations. It provides the technical specifications for how IHPA developed the ABF models for the service streams to be funded on this basis from 1 July 2014, and provides guidance to hospitals, Local Health Networks (LHN) and state and territory health authorities on how to apply these to hospital activity.
