Mental Health Phase of Care Clinical Refinement Testing Project – Final Report
19 July 2021The Mental Health Phase of Care (MHPoC) Clinical Refinement Testing Project aimed to determine whether refinements to the MHPoC recommended as part of the 2017 Clinical Refinement Project improved the reliability of how MHPoC definitions are applied by clinicians. This report outlines the findings from the testing and recommendations on the future refinement of the MHPoC. This report was approved by the Pricing Authority in May 2021.
IHPA Data Access and Release Policy

IHPA’s Data Access and Release Policy outlines the principles and processes adopted by IHPA in the discretionary access and release of data collected under the National Health Reform Act 2011. The Policy provides guidance as to how IHPA will determine whether to release data.
General List of In-Scope Public Hospital Services Eligibility Policy
28 May 2020Each year, IHPA publishes the General List of In-Scope Public Hospital Services (the General List) as part of the National Efficient Price Determination.
The General List defines public hospital services eligible for Commonwealth funding, except where funding is otherwise agreed between the Commonwealth and a state or territory.

2 March 2020The Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA) has developed the Australian Mental Health Care Classification Pricing Feasibility Report 2020–21 to provide an overview of the process undertaken by IHPA to shadow price admitted mental health services using the Australian Mental Health Care Classification (AMHCC) Version 1.0.
