ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS Eleventh Edition

Three Year Data Plan 2019-20 to 2021-22
30 April 2019IHPA requires accurate activity, cost and expenditure data from jurisdictions on a timely basis in order to perform its core determinative functions. This data plan sets out IHPA's seventh rolling Three Year Data Plan, covering the period 2019-20 to 2021-22. The Three Year Data Plan specifies the data requirements and timelines that IHPA will use to collect data over the next three years.
ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS Tenth Edition
1 July 2017ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS Tenth Edition was implemented between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2019 for classifying episodes of admitted patient care across Australian hospital services.
The ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification system is comprised of the following classifications:
AR-DRG Version 9.0
1 July 2017The Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Group (AR-DRG) Version 9.0 was implemented from 1 July 2018 and is the Australian Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) patient classification system that provides a clinically meaningful way of relating the types of patients treated in the hospital to the resources required by the hospital. AR-DRGs incorporate the ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS.
The AR-DRG Version 9.0 is published as a set of three Definition Manuals described below.
Three Year Data Plan 2017-18 to 2019-20
14 June 2017IHPA requires accurate activity, cost and expenditure data from jurisdictions on a timely basis in order to perform its core determinative functions.
This data plan sets out IHPA’s fifth rolling Three Year Data Plan, covering the period
2017-18 to 2019-20.
The data plans of IHPA and the Administrator have been harmonised to provide a standard document structure and an appendix listing shared data collection.
Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups Version 6.x Addendum
9 December 2015The Independent Hospital Pricing Authority is committed to providing the Australian health care industry with a nationally consistent method of classifying all types of patients, their treatment and associated costs. Consequently, resources continue to be devoted to the ongoing development of a Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) classification system based on local clinical practice.
