22 June 2022The Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA) requires accurate activity, cost and expenditure data from jurisdictions on a timely basis in order to perform its core determinative functions.
This rolling Three Year Data Plan sets out the data requirements and timelines that IHPA will use to collect data during the reporting period covering 2022–23 to 2024–25.

Coding Rules provide specific classification advice applicable for separations beginning the following month, unless specified otherwise. A Coding Rule published on 15 March 2022 is applicable for separations from 1 April 2022.
Coding Rules may also be used to activate an emergency use code or placeholder code in a classification.

AR-DRGs group patients with similar diagnoses requiring similar hospital services.

This includes the processes and controls for requests, access, handling, use, classification, release, storage and disposal of confidential jurisdictional information.

Adjustments to the National Efficient Price Policy

The purpose of the Adjustments to the National Efficient Price Policy is to outline the process by which IHPA will assess submissions from jurisdictions on legitimate and unavoidable cost variations and determine whether adjustments to the national efficient price are warranted.
