Australian Subacute and Non-Acute Patient Classification Version 5.0 fact sheet
The Australian National Subacute and Non-Acute Patient Classification (AN-SNAP) is a casemix classification that provides a nationally consistent way of categorising admitted subacute and non-acute hospital care.
AN-SNAP Version 5.0 classifies episodes on the basis of four subacute care types: rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, psychogeriatric care, and non-acute care.

Independent Hospital Pricing Authority - What we do
The Independent Hospital Pricing Authority's (IHPA) undertakes several major areas of work designed to inform the annual determination of the national efficient price and national efficient cost, which are a major determinant of the level of Commonwealth Government funding for public hospital services. This fact sheet details the agency’s functions under the National Health Reform Agreement and role of costing, pricing, data collection, classifications and policy development that enable the implementation of activity based funding.

Pricing Framework, NEP and NEC Determinations 2022–23 Infographic
The Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA) was established to contribute to significant reforms to improve Australian public hospitals.
A vital component of these reforms is the implementation of activity based funding for public hospital services.
Each financial year, IHPA releases the annual national efficient price and national efficient cost to determine the Commonwealth Government’s contribution to public hospitals.
IHPA releases the Pricing Framework for Australian Public Hospital Services (Pricing Framework) before the release of NEP and NEC Determinations.
