Development of Version 4.0 of the Australian Hospital Patient Costing Standards
The Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA) has released a paper on the Development of the Australian Hospital Patient Costing Standards (AHPCS) v 4.0 for public comment.
The purpose of the Australian Hospital Patient Costing Standards (AHPCS) is to promote best practice and specify approaches to hospital product costing activities that IHPA uses for:
- Setting the National Efficient Price
- Developing and/or refining classification systems
- Developing and/or refining relative value unit scales (including service weights)
- The production of other reports and statistical collections including the National Hospital Cost Data Collection (NHCDC).
IHPA is seeking feedback on the range of options and suggestions for the development of the AHPCS v 4.0.
Submissions should be sent as an accessible Word document to submissions.ihpa [at] ihpa.gov.au or posted to "Submissions" PO BOX 483 Darlinghurst NSW 1300 by 5pm Monday 23 March.
All submissions will be published on the IHPA website unless respondents specifically identify any sections that they believe should be kept confidential due to commercial or other reasons.
