AR-DRG Version 9.0 Final Report
AR-DRG Version 9.0 (V9.0) was approved by the Pricing Authority in November 2016. It has been used to price admitted acute episodes of care from 1 July 2018.
The development process has used clinical input, statistical analysis and extensive consultation with clinicians, jurisdictions and other health sector stakeholders.
The AR-DRG V9.0 Final Report details the changes and rationale for the refinement process.
While AR-DRG Version 8.0 (V8.0) contained significant revision and development of the classification in terms of a major review and update of the complexity model the revision work for AR-DRG V9.0 focused on the Adjacent Diagnosis Related Group (ADRG) structure and the subdivision or ‘partitioning’ of ADRGs within Major Diagnostic Categories (MDCs).
The AR-DRG V9.0 Descriptions provides a full listing of long and short descriptions for MDCs, ADRGs and Diagnosis Related Groups.
